Almost Camping

Since we had such a good time hiking in the Smokies, we decided to head to the Upstate to explore the mountains a little closer to home. We chose Table Rock State Park for our first foray because they have cabins to rent so we could camp without really, well, camping. With no TV and no wifi, it was nice to unplug and relax for the weekend.

This was our home base for the weekend. With running water, beds, HVAC, and a tiny kitchen, we were hardly roughing it.
The hike we did had LOTS of waterfalls.

Within about two minutes of the start, Mason was soaking wet and half naked.

We crossed lots of streams.

And found lots of treasures.

We rented pedal boats to take a spin around the lake.

My co-pilot managed to stay in the boat, thank goodness.

A pre-bedtime game of Candyland got REALLY exiting!

Thanks, Table Rock! We'll be back!
