With a Bang and a Splash

Somehow fireworks and s'mores have become our New Year's Eve tradition around here, and this year was no different. We enjoyed Daddy's firework show in the backyard, roasted our 'mallows, and hit the hay. This year we planned to join in the annual New Year's Day polar bear plunge at a nearby beach. But when we woke up to a cold and rainy day, we were less excited about it. Well, Mommy was WAY less excited and Daddy was marginally less excited, but the kids had their hearts set on going to the beach. We hit the pre-party with our friends, but then on the way to the beach we diverted to another beach and staged our own little polar bear plunge. Took a quick dip, avoided the masses of people and parking headaches, and zipped back home in time for nap/quiet time. Much easier. Maybe next year we'll have better weather. And be less cranky. Welcome, 2014!

Watching Daddy's firework show. OOOOOOH.... AAAHHHHH.....

Sparkler girl!

Mason FINALLY got brave enough to hold his own sparkler.

Mess faces.

No, it's not c-c-c-old!

Even Daddy took the plunge.

Happy New Year, Y'all!
