So this winter storm was headed our way. We heard a LOT about how awful it was going to be. I mean, people were predicting doomsday. But in all fairness, this area is not prepared for extreme winter weather (since, well, we generally don't need to be). And it turns out that the winter weather preparedness plan is to just shut everything down. Like every single thing. So they sent the kids home from school early and we gathered our emergency supplies, drank hot chocolate and waited for the snow...

| Avery heard at school that wearing your jammies inside out and doing a snow dance (pictured) is sure to increase the chances of snow. My Southern kiddos were SO EXCITED for it to snow. Bedtime was worse than Christmas. |
| When we woke up, there was a lot of ice but no snow. So a little while later, when it started to snow, we grabbed our coats (still wearing our jammies) and ran outside to check it out. |
| Catching snowflakes on our tongues! |
| Fascinated by our footprints. |
| Even more fascinated by icicles (which were everywhere!) |
| Logically, we then had to whack every icicle we saw. |
| The snow only fell for about 15 minutes, but they loved every second. |
| Snow hugs... hard enough to last since they might be teenagers before this happens again! |
