Nashville or Bust

Considering that I still have PTSD nightmares of our first road trip, we were leery to try it again. But with some lessons learned, we packed up and headed to Nashville for Vandy's homecoming weekend and some time with the Millers. It's a LONG day in the car with the kiddos, but it went much smoother this time. The only mishap was a diaper blowout on the way home that resulted in Avery having to walk through McDonald's wearing only a t-shirt and shoes. At any rate, we loved the time we got to spend with family and catching up with old friends. So much so, in fact, that we're going back for Thanksgiving. But that will be another entry. Here are some highlights from the trip...

Trying out the rocking chairs at Cracker Barrel.

Pluots + Elmo = happy Avery.

Avery was sad that Meghan was not able to be there, but the next best thing was getting to sleep in her bed and play with her stuffed animals. ALL her stuffed animals. Who ALL had to sleep in the bed with her.

Aunt Liz has so many fun things to do. Here Avery and Daddy were flying a kite.

A moment of sweetness.

Decorating pumpkin cookies with Aunt Liz was even more fun than eating the cookies.

"It's breezy out here, Nana!"

Telling my best jokes to the peanut gallery.
