Halloween Happenings

Halloween was big-time fun this year. Avery is finally old enough to "get it," and our neighborhood goes all out with parties and decorations and such. And to top it off, Granddad and Marguerite were here visiting for the weekend. Even now, weeks later, when we walk around the block Avery recounts which houses she went to and which ones were "too scary." She's already anxious to show Mason the ropes next year...

Marguerite introduced Avery to painting. She was a quick study, and we have now added painting to our list of favorite things to do.

Granddad and Mason, supervising the pumpkin carving.

Avery got out her beach shovel to help scoop out the pumpkins.  "Ooh, messy!"

One pumpkin for each member of the family. See if you can guess who's who.

Monkey, checking out Dragon.

Rrrrrrrooar! Watch out for the scary dragon!

The monkey was too fascinated by the pumpkins to hold still for a picture.

We didn't realize that the costume was actually a howler monkey.

Off to trick or treat with Granddad!
