Memorial Day Memories

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend! It's a good thing the weather was so nice, since we pretty much spent the whole weekend outside.

First we took a trip to a nearby park, where Avery tried out the swings. She was cautious at first, but then decided that she likes the wind in her hair. She also discovered that she likes the noise her shoes make against the sandy concrete, and became slightly obsessed with that for an inordinate amount of time. She is still fascinated by
"big kids" and enjoyed the people watching at the park from the safety of Daddy's lap.

The weekend also included a neighborhood parade and BBQ, where she played with other kids and enjoyed showing them how all her toys work. Her cell phone was a popular item among the young ladies.

We wrapped up the weekend with a picnic in the backyard, where we blew bubbles and ate applesauce. And discovered that the bubbles don't work so well if you dip the wand in the applesauce. But it was fun nonetheless.

We're back at school and work this week, but looking forward to our big trip to Nashville next week!

Looks like Avery had a great time. Can you believe our little girls are almost a year old! I miss you and love reading your updates.
