Back to School

It was an extra exciting first day of school this year for a couple reasons. First off, Mason started kindergarten, which means he finally gets to go with Avery to "big kid" school and all that that entails. (The cafeteria! Recess! Riding the bus! Special area classes! New teachers! New friends! New supplies!) Second, our new building was finished, so ALL the kids had a new school. And boy oh boy is it nice! Lots of excitement and lots of newness. And lots of excitement about all the newness. And also lots of traffic jams because nobody knew where they're supposed to be going. Perhaps the transition was easier on the kids than it was the grownups...

It's official.

He might be just a little excited.

Ready!

Like a good big sister, Avery insisted on walking Mason to his class.

All settled.

Happiness is a brand new box of crayons with your name on it.

He's been waiting his whole life for this moment. FINALLY got to ride the bus with the big kids!
