The Great Camp Out

This weekend we braved our first tent camping trip with the kids. Along with several other families, we went up to Poinsett State Park where we proceeded to completely overtake the campground. Luckily there weren't many other folks up there for us to drive completely crazy. The kids loved having the run of the place, and they thoroughly enjoyed exploring everything, climbing trees and rock piles, playing in the dirt, and just being outside with their friends. I'm not sure that anyone got much sleep, but we had such a great time and the kids are already planning when we can go back.

Eleven bumps on a log. (What makes this picture extra funny is that moments before, about half of them tipped backwards off the log which was so hilarious that nobody could even think about crying.)

"What do you mean I need to wash them again? They're clean!"

S'more roasting extravaganza.

This boy is serious about his s'mores.

Bedtime story, tent edition.

Tiny hikers.

It is seriously a minor miracle that nobody went swimming.

Taking a rest on the old mill site.
