Mommy's Little Mimic

It's a lot of pressure being a parent, when you see your kid imitating things you do (and say!) down to the smallest detail. Especially when it comes to taking care of Mason, Avery has been paying attention. Here are a few situations I've caught on camera recently.

Here she's reading to Mason and explaining which animals make which sounds. She stopped frequently to ask him if he understood.

Monkey is the most frequent recipient of her "mothering" -- here she's carrying him around in the sling. For the record, it took me 30 minutes and the instructions to figure out how to put this sling on and get Mason in it, but Avery managed to figure it out without my help. Just sayin.

Look closely -- that's my nursing pillow and that's monkey she's got shoved under her shirt. She even burps him when he's done, and then tells him it's time to "eat the other side."

I don't remember where we were going, but she told me she was "getting ready" and then this is how she came outside to get in the car. Indeed, I don't go anywhere without my purse, my sunglasses, and a bottle of water. Hilarious.
