Nine-Month Update, In Pictures

Today we had Avery's 9-month checkup. She weighs 17 pounds, 10 ounces and is 27 inches long. This puts her in the 30th percentile for both height and weight. She was so excited to have grown out of the 25th percentile that she peed all over the doctor's table. Here's what else she's been up to this month...

Her first Valentine's Day was interesting, and she curiously inspected each valentine she received.

And some of them were tasty!

She tries very hard to be helpful. Here she is taking a break from her toys to help Mommy sort laundry while Mommy wasn't looking.

Even surrounded by handsome gents, her feet are still the most fascinating thing around.

She's not quite crawling yet, but she's scooting around, backwards.
She still hasn't quite mastered the sippy cup.

She has mastered the sh!t-eating grin. We were playing with the shape sorter in her room the other day, and I put some of the shapes on her stool for a new twist. This is what the scene looked like when I stood up and walked in the other room to refill my water glass.

I heard a loud thud and quickly ran back into the room, expecting to find her tipped forward having conked her head on the floor (or the stool). Instead, this is what I found.

Grandma sent her this really cool Priority Mail box! It was full of neat books, but she wasn't as interested in those.
"Sure I'll make you a martini, Mommy, where do we keep the glasses?"
