Ghosts, Goblins, and... African Animals?

We were barely back in town when Halloween hit, so we were a little behind the eight ball this year. We nearly had naked pumpkins, but we managed to get them carved at the very last minute (as in just before dark on Halloween itself). Phew! And trick-or-treating, well, of course we wouldn't miss that!

Head gunk collector.

Head lid inspector.

This year's crop... just in the nick of time.

Our zebra and leopard. They argued all night about who would be eating whom.

The whole family got in on the action. (Note: Mason is convinced that zebras "roar.")

Trick-or-treating on the African Savannah. (You *almost* get the full effect here of how hilarious the 9-foot-tall giraffe was. And why Chris is now referred to in our 'hood as "that crazy giraffe man.")

Candy stampede!

Just a note of explanation... Everyone assumes I had to bribe Chris to participate. In reality, this is how it went down: The kids chose their costumes first. There was a natural theme going. Chris went online and researched and ordered his costume all by himself. I hate dressing up. But when the giraffe arrived and I saw what I was up against, I had no choice but to get with the program. Couldn't very well stand next to a giant giraffe in my street clothes. There's no telling what this means for next year...
