Avery had been looking forward to her birthday for weeks, and when it was all said and done, she was not disappointed. We had a few of her friends over for brunch and birthday cake, and lots of jumping in the "jumpy jump house." I think everybody had a blast -- I know Avery sure did! Mommy and Daddy, however, were exhausted. Phew! Here are some highlights of the day...
| Jumping! |
| More jumping. I should mention that it was HOT, and even hotter in the jump house. So everyone is a little sweaty and disheveled in all the pics. Shoes were broken, hair bows were lost... but it sure was fun! |
| Ring around the rosey. |
| Even Mason got in on the action. |
| Sibs. |
| A rare moment when Mommy was not wielding the camera. (And yes, I got in the jump house. Those things are fun!) |
| Taking a break from jumping to blow some bubbles. |
Cake time! Six little girls waiting patiently...
Avery was very specific about her cake. She requested chocolate cake with blue frosting and pink flowers. The "cake lady" did a great job with our random order. Somehow I didn't get a closeup pic of just the cake -- this is as good as it gets. It was very cute.
| This was the only time it got quiet. |
| The girl is serious about her cake. Note that she ate all the icing first. |
| After all her friends went home and she took a much-needed (for everyone) nap, it was time to open presents! |
Playing with her new CD player. Who knew she had her own little flash mob planned?
| Then she had to go outside to find her present from Mommy and Daddy. |
| All geared up and ready to ride! |
Editor's Note: The jump house was Chris's idea. I didn't think we needed it. He insisted, and ordered it himself. He was right; I was wrong. There, I said it. =)
