So last night, well after Avery had "gone to bed," she opened her door and walked out into the hallway. When I went up to see what was afoot, she told me that she needed socks. It was a little chilly last night, so I say "OK, let's get you some socks." Then she says: "I want PINK socks, Mommy. Pink is my favorite color." This is the first time she has expressed a favorite color, so I smile, get her some pink socks, and put her back to bed. Then I promptly shoved that nagging nightmare that I managed to produce a pink-loving girlie girl deep, deep back into my brain where it lives.
Then this morning when Avery woke up, she was playing and singing in her room for a while. When I went up to get her, this is what I found.
When I opened the door, the first thing she said was "Hi, Mommy. I'm deciding what I'm going to wear later."
Here's a closer look at her organization. Frankly, I don't know if I should be more concerned about the girlie-girl factor or some budding OCD tendencies.
