Lots of New

We are adjusting to all sorts of new things in our house. New house, new family member, new routines (or lack thereof), even some new foods. And new diaper-changing procedures... today Mason christened the wall of his nursery. Although I didn't think about it at the time, it was definitely a good decision to paint the walls in his room yellow.

Mason had his second visit to the pediatrician at about 2.5 weeks old. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and got a good health report. Since he has already blown past his birth weight, we don't go back until 2 months. Since this was sort of an off-cycle visit, I don't have percentiles, but we'll get those next time. Here are a few pics from Mason's first few weeks at home.

Mason's first bath -- he actually seemed to like it.

So clean and handsome (and sleepy) after my bath.

Avery was telling Mason all about the toys on his chair. She often gets concerned that he is oblivious to the toys.

Avery's first experience with corn on the cob. Her verdict: "I like it!"

Avery was so distracted by holding Baby Mason that she didn't notice the camera, so I was able to get some video. She still likes to hug and kiss him and pat him on the head. She's also continually amused by his little hands and feet, and likes to count his toes while he is nursing. Such a good big sister!

Avery is such a sweet big sister! That video is too precious. I'm also quite jealous that she eats beans and meat!! We're still stuck on fruit, mac and cheese and grilled cheese.
