Have It Your Way

Well, we've hit the 21-month mark, and I'm afraid we're already into the famed terrible twos. Avery suddenly has an opinion about EVERYTHING. Including such important topics as which sock to put on first and which color of cup she gets her milk in. Sometimes we have to dump the milk back and forth several times until she makes up her mind (there are only two choices). She also wants to do everything herself and will not stand for it any other way. If she asks for her milk and I open the fridge and hand it to her, she will put it back on the shelf and then get it herself. On the plus side, she is generous with her hugs and kisses (and her new favorite, "nose kisses") and somehow that makes the 20 minutes we just spent putting shoes on worth it.

She has been brushing up on her big sister skills, perfecting her swaddle and practicing putting her baby to sleep. She even gets Max in on the game sometimes.

I don't know where she picked this up, but it cracks me up. Usually there's a funny facial expression that goes along with it.

LOL. All I can say is "8 days and counting". Perhaps she can teach us all some lessons on swaddling since none of us were ever able to do it well enough to keep her in her swaddle. I like her technique. Second babies just find a way to make their own way in life as you know. I have faith that "the seedling" will find a way to survive with 2 "mothers" in his life.
